Experiment with the What-if-Technique
Do you wonder sometimes how you or your life would change if you would have certain things, abilities or skills, or if you would do certain things in a certain way? How would it be? What would change?
You can transform your wondering into a technique. Neuro-linguistic programming known as NLP offers such a technique to initiate life or personality changes in a very soft way. It is What-if-Technique.
You can implement this technique into your self-hypnosis session after you initiated the trance. You can use the Four-Steps-Method or the Yes-Set-Method described in prior blogs.
But you also can simply play and experiment with this technique. The most fun you may have using the What-if-Technique together with a good friend, asking them questions and allowing the mind to open to new possibilities.
Remember: It doesn’t matter for the brain and the subconscious mind if you imagine things or experiences or have them “in real life.”
Once you allowed your mind to collect vivid images, intense thoughts or emotions you desire to have, in your fantasy, your mind will store them together with your common experiences from your daily life. It is your treasure you always can use for life changes.
If you want to use the trance to apply this technique, please go to the method mentioned above first and prepare your session.
While in a trance, challenge yourself to imagine what it would be like to wake up one morning when a problem just disappeared or desired thing or event showed up.
I recommend to record the questions – feel free to add more questions you find important – and play them one after another answering in your pace.
Ask yourself:
If this problem would be solved …
Or:
If your desire would be fulfilled …
How would your life be?
What options would you have?
What would be possible for you, what is not possible today?
How would situations then feel with which you struggle today?
What kind of person would you be? What would others say what is different about you?
What would others think about you?
What would your partner say?
Or your kids, parents, friends, colleagues?
What changes would they notice?
Who would notice it first? Second? Third?
Now challenge yourself a little bit more introducing some new experiences you made in your imagination that are not possible yet, and have them described in fine details.
Enter into all sensory channels: seeing, hearing, feeling (smelling and tasting when appropriate).
What would you see? How would it look like?
What would you hear? How would the sound feel to you?
What would you feel? Describe the feeling.
What would you smell?
What would you taste?
If you are satisfied with your descriptions, ask yourself if you would be willing to live in that way and experience what you experienced doing the technique.
If so, then give your subconscious mind some suggestions.
While applying the What-if-Technique your subconscious mind was able to see how really good life would look like for you.
Ask your subconscious mind to manifest it into a reality!
“I ask you to translate all this into reality.
I ask you, dear subconscious mind, to use all its possibilities and use all its abilities to make such a good attitude to life a reality.”
Your subconscious mind will begin to work inside of you.
It will begin to transform you and soon you will be able to experience the feelings of your imagination in reality.
Soon your wish will be a reality.
Your subconscious mind will do whatever it takes to fulfill your desire or solve a problem. This is for sure!
Physical as well as emotional.
It will let go of what it has to let go.
It will solve what it has to solve.
And you will feel and experience how a metamorphosis begins.
Like a caterpillar that becomes a butterfly, you will begin to unfold.
And you will soon have a much better sense of life because your problem will be completely gone.
Or your desire has been manifested into your reality.
Sometimes that happens very fast.
Maybe you will already feel, see, hear or experience something today …
This would be a WONDER! Wouldn’t it be??
I hope you enjoyed the process.
